We live in exciting times: Cars are driving themselves, shopping is being delivered by robots, you can control your heating from your phone and you no longer have to rely on seven lucky numbers in order to become a millionaire.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
Yes, that’s right – eBay now boasts over 1,000 UK millionaires – sellers who are turning over in excess of £1 million per year and the good news is, that number is set to continue rising.
Chippys in Wigan are the most likely to lend you a tenner – with the majority of eBay Millionaires being based in Manchester, Birmingham and West Yorkshire, selling home, furniture and DIY products. This category of items accounted for 27% of the new millionaires, closely followed by vehicle parts and accessories, with 17%.
Since 2013 eBay has doubled its millionaire sellers; thanks to its 170 million buyers, global access and 13.4 million listings worth of sales last year alone.
This news was released ahead of the 2018 eBay for Business Awards, which recognise the top and the up-and-coming eBay talent, with a chance to win £5,000 and a trip to the US, or ten £1,000 runner-up prizes. If you’ve got a unique story to tell about your journey, eBay wants to know.
